string(274) cognizance with basic experience, a feeling of network, the utilization of larning to this present reality ; and intention on the segment of the researcher ( Boling, Hough, Krinsky, Saleem, A ; Stevens, 2012 ; Jackson, Jones, A ; Rodriguez, 2010 ; Pelz, 2010 ) . Following the section of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 ( NCLB ) and the Persons with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 ( IDEIA ) , teachers could no longer just accept about actualizing research-based guidance plans. These Torahs plainly ordered practicians must use hypothesis and exploration to gracefully grounds that learning strategies lead to improved instructive outcomes ( Slocum, Spencer, A ; Detrich, 2012 ) . At first established in the social insurance callings, proof based example ( EBP ) has been embraced by numerous callings to uplift the practician ‘s capacity to be a hero of examination, usher judgments, and go to the exploration to-rehearse spread ( Biesta, 2010 ) . We will compose a custom paper test on The Application Of Constructivist Theory Education Essay or on the other hand any comparative subject just for you Request Now A long fight in numerous subjects keeps on being identified with the divergence between the methodological analysiss upheld in research and what is actualized in existent example ( Gall, Gall, A ; Borg, 2007 ) . This on-going division among practicians and exploration laborers, each piece great as theoreticians and strategy creators, has been perceived, in any case, regardless of the expanding whole of examination being done, little has been cultivated towards happening statement. Scientists state the results of tests are non acceptable comprehended on the bit of the practician ( Spencer, Detrich, A ; Slocum, 2012 ) . Conversely, practicians seem to accept the exploration may non be appropriate or existent universe to their field. In add-on, the results of exploration may non be promptly accessible in design related journals ( Torres, Farley, A ; Cooke, 2012 ) . EBP in guidance and different subjects has been met with the request of whether there is really another way of rehearsing or simply another way of envisioning what has ever been viewed as standard procedure. In trying to get the exploration design spread in social insurance callings, the use of EBP is an immediate outcome for a call for customer wellbeing. This could utilize each piece great to guidance identified with bettering researcher results ( Spencer et al. , 2012 ) . In human services callings, the Institute of Medicine ( IOM, 2011 ) , has depicted EBP as a dynamic technique, joining the best exploration support with clinical expertness. For the practician, this should influence turn uping better outer grounds than answer requests. Lamentably, the immense main part of practicians depend mostly on their increasingly experient colleagues for way or go on a similar example way since that is the way it has ever been done ( Benner, Sutphen, Leonard, A ; Day, 2010 ; Langer A ; Langer, 2009 ) . Both of these strategies may take to mistakes when non bolstered by research based grounds and in all likelihood outcome in hapless outcomes ( Langer A ; Langer, 2009 ) . On the off chance that the standpoint is practicians are to do judgments dependent on grounds, so the grounds must be significant, of high caliber, relevant, and promptly accessible ( Spencer et al. , 2012 ) . In spite of the fact that the proportion of guidance related exploration has expanded since NCLB was authorized, there are not many surveies which consolidate exact structure forms, for example, randomized controlled tests. As an outcome, numerous practicians discover little decision grounds to back up their assurance concocting ( Butler A ; Schnellert, 2010 ) . As the EBP movement proceeds, practicians, research laborers, and policymakers are being urged to go involved and team up ( Spencer et al. , 2012 ) . Exploration laborers need to look for teacher parts so as to go to design related issues. In add-on, providing results of exploration to practicians in a way that is plainly seen, all the more simple available, and elevate functionality would loan to getting the examination design spread ( Butler A ; Schnellert, 2008 ) . The execution of assets, for example, What Works Clearinghouse ( WWW, 2002 ) , empowers practicians, research laborers, and policymakers to interface. WWW gives carefully planned examination to EBP conclusions and mediation interventions. Through the use of these destinations, the practician can happen data quickly without holding to look for through large databases. The execution of EBP in the instructive circle is non discretionary. The writing demonstrates there is non a lack of grounds, however rather an inadequacy of execution ( Spencer et al. , 2012 ) . With the examination design spread averaging 17 mature ages, practicians and exploration laborers must venture to every part of the grounds energetically ( Spencer et al. , 2012 ) . At the higher guidance degree, educators must example the significance of hypothesis, grounds, and examination to their students. Numerous understudies do non get hypothesis and simply like practicians, think that its difficult to outskirt for a considerable lot of similar grounds ( Slocum et al. , 2012 ) . In the event that EBP is to be to the full actualized and the examination design spread diminished, non only should practicians and exploration laborers cooperate, practicians and the practicians of the great beyond must work to get, use, and envision the advantages of examination. Constructivist Theory Constructivist assaults to larning hold generally been underlined in higher guidance and are before long viewed as the most ordinarily acknowledged hypothetical record by educators ( Hoic-Bozic, Mornar, A ; Boticki, 2009 ; Hussain, 2012 ) . Learning is seen as a functioning method wherein old comprehension is accepted to be primary ( Holly, Legg, Mueller, A ; Adelman, 2008 ; Makgato, 2012 ) . The understood in decide of constructivism is that the researcher is viewed as a total individual at a cultural, intellectual, and affectional degree, which is thought to improve and increase the procurement strategy ( Hrastinski, 2009 ; Ke, 2010 ) . The developing of on the web and mixed class work keeps on being significant with the main part of enlisted understudies being of the adult populace ( Allen A ; Seaman, 2011 ) . Inside separation guidance procurement, much exploration has been affected by constructivist and cultural obtaining hypotheses ( Hrastinski, 2009 ; Legg, Adelman, Mueller, A ; Levitt, 2009 ; Makgato, 2012 ) . In spite of the volume of examination identified with online procurement, there has non been an adult larning hypothesis, which instructors can or will buy in to, to drive example and steer farther exploration ( Minter, 2011 ; Shea A ; Bidjerano, 2010 ) . The six most perfect highlights which add to fruitful online procurement are talked about in the writing ( Cercone, 2008 ) . These properties are: a solid connection between the understudy and the facilitator/teacher, a drawing in and synergistic understudy to-understudy association, the need of examination on the segment of the student so as to connect new cognizance with fundamental experience, a feeling of network, the utilization of larning to this present reality ; and intention on the bit of the researcher ( Boling, Hough, Krinsky, Saleem, A ; Stevens, 2012 ; Jackson, Jones, A ; Rodriguez, 2010 ; Pelz, 2010 ) . You read The Application Of Constructivist Theory Education Essay in class Paper models Although these highlights are of import, the structure of network is viewed as the basic constituent ( Garrison, 2011 ; Palloff A ; Pratt, 2011 ) . The achievement of creating, actualizing, and keeping network actually much of the time prompts different properties being solid each pie ce great ( Garrison, 2011 ; Ruey, 2010 ) . Exploration identified with student procurement and the advancement of network demonstrates a positive relationship ( Boling et al. , 2012 ; Hussain, 2012 ) . A study dependent on assessing students sing their encounters inside an on-line network and class open introduction demonstrated 85 % saw the network understanding as positive, which upgraded their procurement ( Vesely, Bloom, A ; Sherlock, 2007 ) . Two extra surveies that were centered around perceptual encounters and perspectives of on-line students demonstrated a significant association between researcher fulfillment, understudy connection, and network and insight obtaining ( Liu, Magjuka, Bonk, A ; Lee, 2007 ; Sadera, Robertson, Song, A ; Midon, 2009 ) . Despite the fact that the exploration identified with online network improvement is changing over, those in separation guidance battle that so as to accomplish profound obtaining, getting to content on the web and student collaboration is non adequate ( Garrison, 2009 ; Ke A ; Xie, 2009 ) . The pronunciation must be tied in with creating quality larning results ( Ke A ; Xie, 2009 ) . It is accepted the best assault to bring throughing this is through the structure of communitarian very drew in procurement networks ( Garrison, 2009 ; Shea A ; Bidjerano, 2010 ) . In spite of the fact that individuals gather aiming from individual examination and basic idea, the duologue which takes topographic point in gatherings of researchers is the thing that makes comprehension ( Garrison, Anderson, A ; Archer, 2010 ; Garrison, 2011 ) . Online procurement in the twentieth century was essentially centered around crossing over the physical compass for those understudies who had limited course to guidance ( Garrison 2009 ) . The point of convergence is presently changing to issues identified with learning and larning internet, building, and bettering the whenever anyplace organizations of collaboration. In spite of the fact that these are of import issues, unfortunately, they stay equipped to the autonomous student rather than to the entire of a network of researchers ( Akyol, Garrison, A ; Ozden, 2009 ) . In the course of the last decennary there have been numerous hypothetical parts to the online obtaining subject. A Poor Young Boy and The Dog

A Poor Young Boy and The Dog A few days ago I landed at the Bombay Airport (India) and took a cab to my scheduled destination in South Bombay.I was enjoying the busy traffic with people rushing in every possible directions then we got stranded at a very busy intersection. As we waited for the signal to turn green, my eyes met up with a poor young boy, about 12 years old. He removed a piece of bread from his pocket and took a bite. As he was about to take his next bite, a stray dog wagged his tail looking at him. Without hesitation, he sat down and put the bread on the road for the dog to eat.The dog sniffed the bread and walked away. The boy waited until he was sure the dog was gone then he picked up the bread and ate it!My heart cried and wanted to walk up to the boy but before I could open the door the signal turned Green and our car drove away. I kept thinking about the boy and later during my evening meal I realized that I was thinking of approaching the boy but never did, I could have stopped the car and wa lked up to him which again I never did.All I did was “thinking” and this poor little boy who had only one piece of bread without any hesitation sharing it with the dog, though he himself seemed to be very hungry.I learnt one of the biggest lessons in my life which that boy taught me without a conversation. He taught me to share with love and happiness. I am so blessed to have learnt this beautiful lesson from my ‘little unknown master’. It is my moral duty to share this incident with all my friends across the globe and be blessed with happiness.Thank you friends for making this world a beautiful place to dwell.By Dr. Derrick Angelsz India

A key element of HMI’s manufacturing strategy was to limit fixed production costs by outsourcing component parts from strategic suppliers. This strategy allowed the company to increase the variable nature of its cost structure while retaining proprietary control over those production processes that it believed to provide a competitive advantage. In 1996 due to high prices and long lead times, Herman Miller’s IMT (Integrated Materials Technology) leaders decided to hire the Toyota Supplier Support Center, which was the consulting arm of automaker Toyota. With the help and ideas of everyone from IMT and the Toyota supplier support center, improvements were made such as a decrease in quality defects in parts per million, which decreased from 9,000 in 2000 to 1,500 in 2006. Also on-time shipments improved from 80 percent to 100 percent and safety incidents per 100 employees dropped from 10 to 3 per year. 2. How have the company’s values shaped its strategy and approach to strategy execution? Provide illustrations of how these values are reflected in company policies. HMI has codified its long-practiced organizational values and published them n its website in 2005 on a page titled â€Å"What We Believe. † Those beliefs were intended as a basis for uniting all employees, building relationships, and contributing to communities. HMI’s values are reflected in the company’s policies through the organizational values, which consist of: curiosity and exploration, engagement, performance, inclusiveness, design, found ations, a better world, and transparency. All of HMI’s employees were expected to live those values. Because of these values that were set for employees to live by, Herman Miller Inc. as able to create and maintain a profitable business that fit perfectly with the strategic approach they were taking. Also, it would make for a more comfortable feel in the workplace. 3. What is your evaluation of HMI’s financial performance? How does its performance compare to prior years? the competition? Working Condition Problems in Amazon Company

Introduction Even as companies strive to change the working conditions of their employees to enhance innovation and improve individual performance in the workplaces, the problems of poor working conditions are still on prevalence (Littler, 2013).Advertising We will write a custom article sample on Working Condition Problems in Amazon Company specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The recruitment processes, the empowerment plans, the promotion strategies, and other employee retention practices of some American companies have faced discrimination allegations. Surprisingly, the majority of these companies are mega industries that appear in the Fortune 500 and other big publications due to their enhanced corporate performances (Abel, 2013). Cases of poor working conditions in some mega transnational companies continue to attract legal, economic, social, and international discourses, which are disheartening the employees and employers (Higgi ns, 2014). With such allegations are in a steady increase, even as the performance of these companies enhances. Fundamentally, this essay uses the case of Amazon Company to focus on analyzing the working condition problems highlighted in some online publications, and uses the SWOT analysis to discuss the problems. Overview of the Articles Several online articles and newspapers have focused on the employment issues that workers experience at Amazon. This analysis involves five recent articles that have dominated the websites and exposed the public discontentment about the Amazon Company. The first article came from the Seattle Times Newspaper of America, and it exposed the forced labor practices of the Amazon Company, contrary to its labor policies.Advertising Looking for article on business economics? The third article was a write-up from the AlterNet Newspaper, which exposed the mandatory security checkpoints and the underpayments imposed on the Amazon workers. The fourth article was a BBC publication that expressed concerns about the likelihood of the Amazon workers to face mental health problems. The last article is a publication of the Westlaw Journal that described a variety of workplace problems at Amazon. The Identified Working Condition Problems Forced Labor Practices in the Amazon Company– The recent employment wrangles in the Amazon Company associate with the illegal issues of forced labor practices in the company (Bernton, 2014). Reports indicate that the Amazon Company has recently resorted to forced labor in its outlets that operate in the Latin America regions. Notwithstanding its efforts in establishing an Amazon code of standards, that encompasses regulation s against forced labor and child labor, the practice of forced labor has been pervasive in the operations of the Amazon Company (Bernton, 2014). In the regions of Latin America, India, Asia, and most parts of the United States, the Amazon Company has been practicing indirect forced labor practices against its workers. Menial workers who operate in the Amazon warehouses have complained against the poor working conditions that include excess overtime, forced overtime, strenuous jobs, and forced labor during the off-duty days (Bernton, 2014). These menial workers complain about workplace harassment, coercion, intimidation, and strenuous assignments.Advertising We will write a custom article sample on Working Condition Problems in Amazon Company specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Underpayment in the Amazon Company- Aside from the forced labor and poor working conditions practiced by the management of the Amazon Company in its different outlets, employees complain about low compensations and wages. According to Hsieh (2013), the company management considers the menial workers to be illiterate individuals who do not have rights to access better working conditions. Last year, the company faced an excruciating challenge concerning the deplorable compensations offered to its workers in Germany. Over 100,000 warehouse workers from Germany and America have complained about forced individual productivity, even as the company keeps its workers waiting for clearance at the security checkpoints without paying their daily wages (Hsieh, 2013). In the regions of Asia, Latin America, and parts of Europe, the company paid its workers meager salaries and wages, and retained the hourly wages to cater for any allegations of damages reported at the warehouses (Hsieh, 2013). Pay cuts and demotions to reduce the wage bill are common practices that Amazon dishonestly practices. Deplorable Workplace Conditions- Amazon has recently faced allegations concerning its behavior of exposing workers to terrible working conditions within the warehouse. The company has left its workers to struggle within the warehouses that have poor working conditions, pitiable carton arrangements, and extreme summer temperatures (Abel, 2013). In a recent 2013 case, investigative reports at Pennsylvania concerning the working conditions at the Amazon warehouses revealed that the company often exposes its workforce to extreme workplace problems that include exposure to extreme temperatures (Abel, 2013).Advertising Looking for article on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More In the case of Pennsylvania, the company arranged a number of paramedics and ambulances outside its warehouses and stores in preparation for any case of a dehydrated or an injured worker. The International Labor Organization and independent analysts in China confirmed these allegations through an assessment of China during the summer. In China, Abel reveals that the Amazon Retail Online Company exposed the Chinese warehouse workers to extreme warehouse temperatures that consequently led to health complications and deaths to some workers (2013). Workplace Racial Discrimination- One of the most upsetting human resource practices of the Amazon Company is its illegitimate behavior of practicing racial prejudice against the immigrant workers. According to Higgins (2014), foreign expatriates and menial laborers of the Amazon Company have reported workplace problems concerning racial discrimination that is eminent in most of its regional and global outlets. In the year 2012, some outlets o f the Amazon Company at Swansea and Wales violated the workplace regulations of the local employment tribunals that are against racial discrimination (Higgins, 2014). In certain cases in America, foreign workers and other employees from the minority ethnicities complained about the persistent discriminations at the Amazon warehouses and offices. Concerning the waiting hours spent during the mandatory security checks imposed on the menial warehouse workers, most of them are the racial minorities who live in America (Higgins, 2014). In France, China, Latin America, and Spain, the Amazon workers maintained that rank promotions, compensations, empowerment, motivation, and recognition often favor the native whites. Gender and Disability Bias- Gender and disability bias are among the major concerns related to the working condition problems at Amazon (Higgins, 2014). Significant evidence from the workers has proven the presence of workplace gender discrimination at Amazon. In the year 2013 , several former employees claimed that the Amazon Company exposed the female workers to discriminatory practices (Littler, 2013). In the same year, some former workers of the Amazon Company attested that the company never recognized employees with disability despite the fact that some disabilities were due to the awful working conditions at the warehouses and stores. Reports have revealed that the company unfairly dismisses the female employees because of their family related issues (Littler, 2013). Female employees who seek maternity leaves remain unfairly dismissed and on wrong allegations. According to Higgins (2014), the disabled workers and those with minor physical health problems fail to secure job positions at the company or remain dismissed from the company on wrong allegations. SWOT Analysis of the Employment Problems Strengths- the strength of Amazon concerning the present allegations about the deplorable working conditions is its market dominance in the online retail st ores. Amazon has a swift shipment process, a well-maintained rapport with consumers, and a reliable shipping process that makes it marketable regardless of the working condition problems. Weaknesses– the weakness of Amazon concerning the discussed issues is that the company has lost several class lawsuits, racial lawsuits, human rights lawsuits, and employment lawsuits from its former and current workers. Opportunities– Amazon has several opportunities to counter the current employment concerns. To its advantage, the Amazon Company still enjoys a remarkable online retail experience with its business partners, which makes it possible for the company to form some firm joint ventures to stabilize its foundation. Threats– The most disturbing concern about the allegations is that the Amazon Company is currently facing a tough regional and overseas market competition from the companies that offer attractive online purchasing services. Conclusion Although the global le gislations concerning the promotion of fair workplace treatment among workers are against discrimination, poor payments, poor physical working conditions, and forced labor, some companies are still against these laws. Amazon is one of the American transnational companies that have promoted the unequal treatment of workers and excessive mistreatment of workers. International newspapers and magazines have placed the company in the public limelight concerning its insensitive employment practices against its workers. The company has been practicing a series of malpractices against its workers. Amazon has imposed unfair promotion practices, exposed workers to deplorable physical working conditions, has compensated workers unfairly, and has practiced racial prejudice. Using a SWOT analysis to assess the repercussions of these allegations that have gone public through the newspapers, the company may remain dominant due to its swift and reliable shipment processes, but may lose its reputati on. Its experienced workforce may not help to counter the imminent competition. References Abel, J. (2013). BBC Reports Poor Working Conditions in Amazon Warehouses. Web. Bernton, H. (2014). Think You Know What to Do Youve Already Lost the Game.

Think You Know What to Do Youve Already Lost the Game. My salsa partner raises his left hand. I wonder, what does it mean? Does he want me to do a right turn? Or turn in another direction? Will he drop his hand over my head for a neck drop? Is there some other option I haven’t thought of? As soon as I start asking these questions, I’ve pretty much lost the game. The game is to feel what there is to do. As one of my teachers coached, â€Å"Where I feel, I go.† If only it were so easy. My brain thinks it knows what my partner is going to do. When I first started dancing, a raised hand always meant a right turn. But now there are more options, and my brain’s predictions get me into trouble. My job is to stop anticipating and go with what is happening in the moment. Predicting the future can get us into trouble in our careers and in business as well. Especially because we’re often wrong. Example #1: Annual Reviews (or Where Our Brains Take Us) I have a friend with a past history of getting fired from several jobs. He has now been with the same organization for six years and has gotten bonuses and raises at most of his annual reviews. Nevertheless, this year, when his annual review came up, his â€Å"stinking thinking† told him that some challenging dynamics with his new supervisor would lead to his getting fired. There really was no possibility of his losing his job. But thoughts of getting fired are his brain’s right turn. He goes to those thoughts even when he has not been led there. We all have these â€Å"go-to† thoughts, and they are probably the hardest thing to control, especially after we have trained ourselves so well to think them! But changing these thoughts is probably the most impactful move we can make on the career â€Å"dance floor.† If we can wait for real information and direction before defaulting to our patterned thinking, we can avoid a lot of internal, and external, struggle. Example #2: Client Request I had a client (I’ll call him Tom) sent to me by a larger organization. A representative of that organization (I’ll call her Liz) called to say that Tom wanted a different format and tone in his resume. This was one of our early projects for the organization, before we had hit our stride and started consistently producing the type of executive resumes their clients love. My first instinct was to train the initial writer who worked with Tom on the formats and style that the client wants. But I did not know whether Tom would be open to that. The â€Å"lead’s† hand was raised – but was this a signal to turn? I asked Liz to connect with Tom and got further information that indicated we needed to change direction. A new writer was able to deliver exactly what Tom wanted. I took Liz’s direction and created a win for everyone involved. Example #3: Automation and Innovation It used to be that when you had to fill an order, you got a human to find the item and put it in a box. It used to be that when you wanted to get a shipment delivered, you had an employee get in a truck and drive it there. These things are changing. The companies that resist the true direction that things are going are not going to survive. Just because you’ve always done something the way you knew to do it doesn’t mean it’s going to keep working, or that the market wants you to do it that way, this time. And just because there’s an option to automate something does not mean it will be the most efficient or the best way. The lead’s hand is raised†¦ but wait before you turn. What if You’re the Boss? As a supervisor or business owner, our job is to do the best we can to provide clear direction so that those who follow us don’t get the wrong idea – and so that they feel like we are partnering with them fully. It helps to remember that we are followers too – of our clients and customers. If we can all manage ourselves in our respective roles, we can truly wow people on the dance floor! How do you see these principles of â€Å"lead† and â€Å"follow† playing out in your career or business? Please share below! Save Save

The household in the economy Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 4000 words

The household in the economy - Essay Example We will also look at the evidence and the various theoretical and methodological issues related to household economy. In the pre-industrial era, the household was a unit of production as compared to a modern household which is a unit of consumption in (Kertzer, 1991). According to Kertzer, â€Å"In a household-as-labour-unit model, the composition of the household is a product of the labour demands of the economic operation, whether it be a farm or a protoindustrial home workshop.† In the pre-industrial times the agricultural land formed the main source of income. This was true even in the case of landless labourers. As such, the economy of the household and indeed its structure also revolved around the land. In countries, like France, where impartible inheritance was a custom, the households tended to be complex family systems. When France banned impartible inheritance in nineteenth century, it led to a progressive decline of the complex family households. Similarly, different inheritance systems in different parts of Europe led to formation of different household systems throughout Europe. In these types of land based agricultural households, the women did not have much say in decision making. Household labour was almost entirely borne by the women while men concentrated on farming. With the advent of the industrial era, things began to change even in predominantly agricultural areas. The farmers whose lands were located closer to the urban areas could no longer be considered â€Å"as â€Å"peasants†, but as market oriented entrepreneurs. Before 1770s, textiles were mainly produced within the household. But with industrialization, these labour intensive jobs moved out of the household and into the factories. On the other hand, the farmers who were producing milk were directly supplying it to the towns like Lancashire and Manchester. This led to the prosperity of farming households. Most of these successful farms were very small (upto 5 acres), and yet profitable

American Presidency Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

American Presidency - Essay Example In general, each man who has held the position, has faced somewhat similar circumstances while holding the job, but have been forced to approach them from an individualistic standpoint that stays true to their respective convictions, while outlining their legacies in the pages of the history books that future generations will come to read. As for the American Presidency, the following are listed under Article II of the US Constitution in regards to the issue of the role of the office of the Presidency and in particular the tools available to its occupant; Chief Diplomat: Under the Constitution, the president has more authority over foreign policy than the other branches of the government (but not sole authority). The president can negotiate treaties (with consent of the Senate), appoint diplomatic personnel, and has sole power to recognize governments. Commander-in-Chief: The Constitution places the president as the head of the armed forces of the United States. One way to look at this is that he is the general of the generals. This is important because it guarantees civilian control over the military (something missing in many countries of the world). One of the last major challenges to the presidency as commanderin-chief came when General douglas McArthur challenged Truman's policies during the Korean War which led to President Truman's firing of McArthur. Chief Legislator: No bill proposed by the congress can become a law without the president's signature. Thus the president is also involved in the process of legislation. But the Constitution mandates that the president "from time to time" inform the congress on the state of the union (the U.S.). By tradition, this has become a yearly event known as the State of the Union Address. Through this address the president helps to set legislative priorities for the coming year. ("The Presidency", p.1). Different President's come into office at different times during the course of their nation's history. Contrary circumstances that can lead different men in vastly different directions and lead them to having distinct Presidencies in their own right. In regards to what would enable a President to succeed, as well as what could make then fail, "Two hundred years of our country's history suggest that five qualities have been constants in the men who have most effectively fulfilled the oath of office. First, every successful president has had vision, insight, or understanding: a clear idea of

The analysis and design are mainly base on understanding business objectives and processes. Goal: The overall goal of System Analysis is to study procedural components and modules. The goal of System Designis to design whole software, which fulfils all the requirements of customer. This leads to improve organizational systems, by applying software, which helps employees to perform business, tasks more effectively. Example: Banking Earlier days all the processes of banks used to done manually or through paper work which was time-consuming. While nowadays with the help of new technology and proper analysis and design, everyone can do banking transactions easily and faster. Objectives: 1) To determine specific needs of system. 2) Discuss approaches and tasks of system.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   3) Evaluate tools and techniques.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   4) Use appropriate methods and techniques to design software. Q2. Choose three sources of software. Describe the sources and explain why a project might use each source. Answer: The three sources of software are: Information Technology Services Firms, Cloud Computing, Open-Source Software. Information Technology Services Firms: When a company needs information system but does not have enough resources or expertise to develop system on its own and not suitable for off-the-shelf system, Information Technology Service Firms help to develop customized information system. IT service firms helps in developing, hosting and running applications. Firm consultants use many of the same processes, methods, tools and techniques that companies use to develop in-house systems. The examples of such IT firms are IBM, HP, Accenture, Wipro, Infosys and more†¦ REASONS TO CHOOSE Information Technology service Firms: Latest technology can be use through outsourcing company to IT service firms. Internal staff of company may have limited resources available with them while IT service staff can have many multiple resources available which increases Productivity as well as Flexibility. Cloud Computing: Cloud Computing refers to provision of applications where software is license and maintain by third party. Customers can use software through virtual private networks or Internet. Most popular example of cloud computing is Google Apps and Microsoft. Helps in maintaining hardware and software systems more effectively. Data can be retrieve easily through just setting connections to Internet. REASONS TO CHOOSE Cloud Computing: Cost structure of cloud computing is more flexible than traditional methods. Accessing speed of software can be increase. Once storing data/information on cloud server, we can access data from anywhere and at any time. Open-Source Software: The software in which source code is freely available is likely to be termed as OPEN-SOURCE software. Source code of open-source software can be easily modify by anyone. Such softwares are developed and maintain by group of people.   REASONS TO CHOOSE Open-Source Software: Open source software can be easily customize as per user requirement. When company faces costs issues in arranging software, Open-Source Software is best option to take. Best example of open source software is Linux and Firewall. Q3. Explain in your own words how you would convince your client to taking on custom software development vs. consider purchasing an off-the-shelf software solution. Answer: Custom Software Development: The software, which is design and develop for some specific purpose for user or company. Off-the-shelf Software: They are the software, which can be purchase and are ready to use for public. E.g. Microsoft Office. Basically, it is a Build or Buy choice for organization (whether to build custom software or to purchase off-the shelf software). No doubt, Off-the-shelf software are initially good in saving time and money but later on they are quite difficult to manage and customize as they are bound with their rigid features while on other hand Custom Software Development requires high cost for the development but at the same time they are more flexible in compare to off-the-shelf softwares as Custom Softwares can be transform as per changing requirements of business or client. Many times, it happens that we have to pay for the features, which are of no use to client or firm in Off-the-shelf software, so instead of paying money for unwanted features it is better to invest that amount in developing Custom Software. Hence, Custom Software is long-term benefit while Off-The-Shelf is short-term benefit. Powerful Winter Imagery in Edith Whartons Ethan Frome :: Ethan Frome Essays

Powerful Winter Imagery in Edith Wharton's Ethan Frome   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Ethan Frome, the title character of Edith Wharton's tragic novel, lives in his own world of silence, where he replaces his scarcity of words with images and fantasies.   There is striking symbolism in the imagery, predominantly that of winter which connotes frigidity, detachment, bleakness and seclusion.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Twenty-eight year old Ethan feels trapped in his hometown of Starkfield, Massachusetts.   He marries thirty-four year old Zeena after the death of his mother, "in an unsuccessful attempt to escape the silence, isolation, and loneliness of life" (Lawson 71).    Several years after their marriage, cousin Mattie Silver is asked to relieve Zeena, a gaunt and sallow hypochondriac, of her household duties.   Ethan finds himself falling in love with Mattie, drawn to her youthful energy, as, "The pure air, and the long summer hours in the open, gave life and elasticity to Mattie" (Wharton 60).   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Ethan is attracted to Mattie because she is the antithesis of Zeena. "While Mattie is young, happy, healthy, and beautiful like the summer, Zeena is seven years older than Ethan, bitter, ugly and sickly cold like the winter" (Lewis 310).   Zeena's strong, dominating personality emasculates Ethan, while Mattie's feminine, effervescent youth makes Ethan feel like a "real man." Contrary to his characteristic passiveness, he defies Zeena in Mattie's defence, "You can't go, Matt! Emotional Intelligence Essay

The book, Emotional Intelligence 2.0, provides an alternative approach to how a person achieves success. This book does not focus on the conventional determinant of success, such as formal education and training, experience, and intelligence level (IQ). Although all these components contribute greatly to ones achievement of success, these factors are not the only factors to be considered in whether a person will be successful or not. This book focuses on the concept that it refers to as emotional intelligence (EQ), which is one’s ability to recognize and effectively understand his/her emotions in a productive and rational manner. The objective of Emotional Intelligence 2.0 is to educate people on suppressing their natural willingness to succumb to their feelings or emotions. The author states, â€Å"The physical pathway for emotional intelligence starts in the brain, at the spinal cord. Your primary senses enter here and must travel to the front of your brain before you can think rationally about your experience. But first they travel through the limbic system, the place where emotions are experienced. Emotional intelligence requires effective communication between the rational and emotional centers of the brain† (p. 7). Overall, people have to learn to deal with or work through the emotional phase of the thinking process and resist making â€Å"knee jerk† decisions based on their feelings at a given moment. By increasing their EQ, people are more proficient in making sound rational decisions when they are emotional. One may ask. How do you determine your level of emotional intelligence (EQ)? This is accomplished by an individual taking the â€Å"Emotional Intelligence Appraisal† test. Completing this test is the first step to determining and improving your EQ. Your individual EQ report provides you with a synopsis of your current EQ level, the EQ skills you need to improve, and the strategy(s) that will be most beneficial to increasing your EQ. In addition to this information, your EQ report allows you to compare your scores with others around the world. Also, you are given the opportunity to take the â€Å" Emotional Intelligence Appraisal† test a second time to see how you have improved your EQ and receive feedback report allows you to see your accomplishments and outline the next steps of your progression. The author states, â€Å"Emotional intelligence is your ability to recognize and understand emotions in yourself and others, and your ability to use this  awareness to manage your behavior and relationships† (p. 17). EQ lays the foundation for many skills, such as, time management, communication, assertiveness, customer service, anger management, stress tolerance, and many other aspects of our life each day. Although our emotions will play an eminent role in our daily life, improved EQ skills will teach us to better control our emotions and keep our emotions from controlling our actions or behaviors. Additionally, we will learn how to better interact with others and build better and stronger relationships. While emotional intelligence is vital to human behavior, it only accounts for a portion of a person as a whole. The author states, â€Å"IQ, personality, and EQ are distinct qualities we all possess. Together, they determine how we think and act. It is impossible to predict one based upon another. People may be intelligent but not emotionally intelligent, and people of all types of personalities can be high in EQ and/or IQ. Of the three, EQ is the only quality that is flexible and able to change† (p. 19). There is no know link between these three components that exist in a person, but each component coexists and works together to guide this person’s thoughts and behaviors. Unlike EQ, a person’s capacity to learn and personality are hardwired or ingrained over time. Emotional intelligence is a skill that is flexible and can be improved with guidance and practice. There are four core emotional intelligence skills. These four skills are divided into two categories: personal competence and social competence. Personal competence is centered on the individual, and it is made up of your self-awareness and self-managements skills. Self-awareness is your ability to recognize and understand how and why you typically behave or react a certain way. It is becoming comfortable dealing with both positive and negative emotions. Self-management is an extension of personal-awareness. It is using your awareness to guide your actions in a positive direction. Social competence focuses on your interaction with other people, and it consists of social awareness and relationship management skills. Social awareness is your ability to recognize and understand others emotions. It is noticing how others are feeling and thinking, even if it differs from your own. Relationship management is the capacity to use the knowledge and understanding of both your emotions and the emotions of others to connect with others. Although each of these EQ skills are evaluated separately and  can be improved individually, theses skills work collectively to increase your EQ level and improve your emotional intelligence overall.

Information Technology in Education 2019

What better way to thrust oneself into the global economy than to participate at the educational level of information technology? Youll be called upon to not only consider what has been done in the past, but to move forward into the future to anticipate and create today what will be new tomorrow in a constantly changing and challenging field. No longer can education afford to be part of an old guard mentality. Education, like any other type of business, must scurry to keep up with the ever changing demands of technology in addition to the ever changing demands of the educational world. Education must present itself as cutting edge in order to draw and keep its client base the student. It is a trend playing out across the entire educational spectrum due to the onslaught of foreign competition, and the changing marketplace of our industries and the economic demands of the entire economy. .u74780503d2fb2061e794147612a78d71 { padding:0px; margin: 0; padding-top:1em!important; padding-bottom:1em!important; width:100%; display: block; font-weight:bold; background-color:#eaeaea; border:0!important; border-left:4px solid #34495E!important; box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -o-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); text-decoration:none; } .u74780503d2fb2061e794147612a78d71:active, .u74780503d2fb2061e794147612a78d71:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; text-decoration:none; } .u74780503d2fb2061e794147612a78d71 { transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; } .u74780503d2fb2061e794147612a78d71 .ctaText { font-weight:bold; color:inherit; text-decoration:none; font-size: 16px; } .u74780503d2fb2061e794147612a78d71 .post Title { color:#000000; text-decoration: underline!important; font-size: 16px; } .u74780503d2fb2061e794147612a78d71:hover .postTitle { text-decoration: underline!important; } READ Associate Degree in Criminal Justice 20 Months to a Better Career or Foundation for a Bachelor DegreeInformation Technology education is a vast and expanding field that can take off in any number of unexpected directions, for it still is essentially in its infancy. However many precedents the educational environment can cite, one can expect volumes more to follow. The field is so new in many ways, new being a very relative term, that unless one is currently involved on a day-to-day basis, it would be hard to surmise where this path might lead. Todays industry giants are sometimes tomorrows industry has-beens. Regardless, Information Technologys playing field is expansive and rigorous, and full of opportunities. Yes, the competition is stiff; but, the pay-offs for those with tenacity and who use their inventive minds potentially unlimited. However demanding the field, one cannot help but find the challenge invigorating, the possibilities exponentially impressive, and the rewards more than gratifying. Besides, who wouldnt want to be given the opportunity to work with some of the best minds in the country; to explore unchartered territory; to devise new and unique systems for specific and worthwhile causes; and to push oneself to the maximum of ones creative ability? Who wouldnt want to be given the opportunity to create the Next Big Thing? Because this field is relatively in its infancy, it mitigates the risk of devoting ones self to something others might perceive as being too generalized, too limited. On a very positive note: its not a story necessarily filled with David and Goliath characters as in some businesses; its simply an opportunity to explore the world at large in a very specific manner and to allow ones self to process ones passions for the good of often very legitimate and worthwhile educational institutions. Yet, at the same time, this field is so much a part of the popular lexicon, it is so much a part of the rags- to-riches stories our country is based on, that on e cant help but sense the potential for great opportunities. With prospects like that, how could one possibly not quench ones enthusiasm? .ueb2a20fea628c70cf4c11f33db44007f { padding:0px; margin: 0; padding-top:1em!important; padding-bottom:1em!important; width:100%; display: block; font-weight:bold; background-color:#eaeaea; border:0!important; border-left:4px solid #34495E!important; box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -o-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); text-decoration:none; } .ueb2a20fea628c70cf4c11f33db44007f:active, .ueb2a20fea628c70cf4c11f33db44007f:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; text-decoration:none; } .ueb2a20fea628c70cf4c11f33db44007f { transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; } .ueb2a20fea628c70cf4c11f33db44007f .ctaText { font-weight:bold; color:inherit; text-decoration:none; font-size: 16px; } .ueb2a20fea628c70cf4c11f33db44007f .post Title { color:#000000; text-decoration: underline!important; font-size: 16px; } .ueb2a20fea628c70cf4c11f33db44007f:hover .postTitle { text-decoration: underline!important; } READ Political Science Degree Jobs Career Possibilities with a Degree in Political ScienceRelated ArticlesBachelor Degree in Business AdministrationPolitical Science Degree Career Steps to Becoming a Foreign Service OfficerThe IT Security IndustryHealth Care Consulting A Growing DemandEarning a Business Law DegreeThe Key to Your Future is an MBA Degree
